As Principal, I am proud to welcome you to Tucker Road Bentleigh Primary School, a vibrant and connected community where we want every child to arrive each morning with a smile on their face and leave each afternoon with a positive experience to share.

At Tucker Road, our motto is simple: everyone should feel safe, included and proud. These words are much more than written statements on a poster. They filter through the learning experiences we create in our classrooms, the conversations we have at assembly, our student leadership opportunities and the way we interact with one another in the playground and across our community.

We have high expectations for both learning and wellbeing. Our teachers are committed to providing engaging, evidence-informed learning experiences that build knowledge, curiosity, confidence and independence. We want our students to experience success, be appropriately challenged and develop the skills and dispositions they need to thrive both at school and beyond.

Over the coming years, we are continuing to strengthen the consistency of teaching and learning across our school. Our priorities include further developing a strong whole-school approach to literacy, maintaining learning growth for all students through our Learning Enhancement Program, and embedding a Multi-Tiered System of Supports so that every child can access the academic, social and wellbeing support they need to succeed.

Our leadership structure reflects this commitment. Our Assistant Principal works alongside Learning Specialists in Literacy, Numeracy and Instruction, as well as our Learning Enhancement Team. Our Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader and Inclusion Leader ensure that student wellbeing, engagement and inclusion remain central to everything we do.

Tucker Road is also a school that embraces new ideas and continues to evolve. We regularly invite the perspectives of our families are always looking for ways to improve teaching and learning, broaden opportunities for our students and make our school an even better place to learn and belong. Our students benefit from specialist learning, targeted intervention and extension, student leadership opportunities, wellbeing initiatives and a range of experiences designed to help them discover their strengths and interests.

We are fortunate to have extensive grounds and facilities that provide wonderful spaces for our students to learn, play and connect. Just as importantly, we are proud to be a genuine community school. Our families, School Council and active Parents and Friends Association play an important role in school life, and the strong partnership between home and school is something we greatly value.

There is a lot to be proud of at Tucker Road and plenty to be excited about for our future. Most importantly, we want our children to enjoy coming to school, to feel that they belong and to know that the people around them genuinely care about their learning, wellbeing and success.

I warmly invite you to explore our website and, if you are considering Tucker Road Bentleigh for your family, to join us for a school tour and experience our school community for yourself.
